    A topical pharmaceutical formulation for use in treating virus infections of the skin or mucosa and containing 9-(2-hydroxyethoxymethyl) guanine or a salt or ester thereof which comprises a dispersed oil phase and a continuous aqueous phase containing therein water, at least 30% of a polyhydric alcohol (by weight of the formulation) and solublized acyclovir.

    The invention relates to pharmaceutical processing, and in particular to methods for the preparation of pharmaceutical preparations for the treatment of viral skin diseases.

    emulsifier containing cetostearyl alcohol and sodium lauryl sulfate at a temperature of up to 70 ° C.

    Purified water

    Part of acyclovir was dissolved in water and propylene glycol at room temperature.

    Invention Formula
    The method of obtaining an emulsion of 9- (2--hydroxyethoxymethyl) guanine by mixing it with propylene glycol, is characterized in that, in order to increase the absorbability of the target product, 5 wt.% 9- (2-hydroxyethoxymethyl) guanine is mixed with 40 wt. % propylene glycol and 30% by weight of water, then emulsified with 17.5% by weight of the oil phase containing liquid paraffin and white soft paraffin with 7.5% by weight of emulsifier containing Cetostearyl alcohol and sodium lauryl sulfate at temperatures up to 70 ° C .
